Tor house of chains9/7/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() That's great to hear, i'm actually really excited to meet new characters and be in a new setting.Lifetime’s House of Chains tells the story of a seemingly typical suburban family. Felisin knew she had become twisted and hurt the people closest to her (even before becoming Sha'ik) and sparing Tavore the revelation stopped her hurting one more. I've also had more time to think and realise Tavore not learning of Felisin's identity was in a way one last act of kindness for the latter. But, I think it served the characters better. The book was building up to this confrontation and it would have made for good drama. I can understand the viewpoint although I don't agree with it. Ooh it was so satisfying and I'm glad it was Karsa who delivered it. ![]() I was happy to know I remembered more than I thought though :) ![]() Yes, although because it had been a while since reading DG, I was doubting myself. It really is something to experience.Īnd after that, all the main plotlines are out of the way and from Bonehunters through Crippled God it all starts slooooooowly coming together…almost a word that starts with a C and rhymes with “onvergence”…there are new subplots throughout each book and it will be something to see! Post again when you’re done Midnight Tides!ĭid you enjoy the realization that you’d seen him before in DG as Toblakai? I hated it at first but by the end it was in my Top 3 Malazan books. Don’t panic, follow Rule # 1 of Malazan and Just. Just to warn you, MT is all new characters except one, and an entire new continent. Some wish that Tavore learned of her identity, personally I’m glad Erickson went the way he did. I’m glad you recognized Felisin’s death as a tragedy. What did you think of Bidinthal’s comeuppance?Īs for Fiddler, Crokus, Apsalar and Heboric…well, just keep reading…you never know what you’ll find out late with Malazan… He is the anti-barbarian, Erickson’s answer to the mindless barbarian fantasy trope. Did you enjoy the realization that you’d seen him before in DG as Toblakai?. I also loved Karsa’s book, after the insanity that was MoI, it was nice to focus on a singular “new”character. ![]()
